"Hall of Shame" Update- Wesley Snipes (Again)

If you're a regular frequenter of this blog, you'll be familiar with the "Hall of Shame" series we do here. You'll also be familiar with the coverage we have done on Wesley Snipes.

Well, it seems that there's more news on Snipes' case. Although he was acquitted of the felony charges, the misdemeanors he was guilty of could potentially mean some hard jail time. According to a blog post by motivational speaker Chuck Gallagher, the United State respectfully urges the court to sentence Snipes to a term of 36 months in jail and a fine of at least $5 million.

The US Government ended their "respectful urging" with this pleasing tidbit:

"In the defendant Wesley Snipes [case], the Court is presented with a wealthy, famous, and inveterate tax scofflaw. If ever a tax offender was deserving of being held accountable to the maximum extent for his criminal wrongdoing, Snipes is that defendant."

Well Wesley, looks like you're still screwed...

Travis,
The latest news I heard is that he will probably serve around 3 years of his 16 year sentence
